For a Good Cause

The funds collected from this event will aid the Southern Cancer Society in their efforts to provide support and advocacy for individuals affected by cancer within our community.

Thanks to your support over the past year, the Cancer Society has:

  • Assisted 609 cancer patients and their families, including 260 new patients in Queenstown Lakes District and Central Otago
  • Provided 440 nights of accommodation in Daffodil House for people undergoing cancer treatment in Dunedin
  • Contributed $105,592 to National Research Projects to help reduce the incidence and impacts of cancer across New Zealand
  • Engaged 172 ongoing volunteers including 48 volunteers who run the popular CanShop

Our organisation operates independently, and we depend solely on donations, bequests, and community fundraising to sustain our free services that support individuals and their families affected by cancer.

For over 90 years, the Cancer Society has provided support to New Zealanders with any type of cancer diagnosis and their families/whanau. Our services are accessible to anyone who needs them. Your contributions will make a significant impact in helping us continue to provide these essential services.

If you or a member of your whānau have received a cancer diagnosis, you can ring our local office on (03) 442 4281 or learn more about our free services at cancer.org.nz
